Reiki Online – A New Trend to Learn Reiki

Reiki Online – A New Trend to Learn Reiki

By Debby L.

Reiki online was not a household term 15 years ago. It was something that you had to learn in person and spend a few days from a master. Some schools even required you to pass a test before taking level 3.

The same thing applies with other daily routines, such as banking. In the late eighties, electronic or internet banking was not a household terms. Now most of us prefer to do banking from the convenient of our laptop. We order airline tickets through the internet, and even bought our electronic appliance from Amazon.

Reiki online has been a trend since the late nineties and is becoming more and more popular now. People want to become a healer instantly, and do not want to spend days learning it. They prefer to learn the material online or download the digital manual and get the Reiki attunement from a distance.

Some people argue that learning directly from a master is much better than learning from internet. While the truth is debatable, the truth is that universal energy, which is the basic of Reiki does not have any limitation on distance, place and time. It is possible to have attunement from a distance and it is effective, as long as the master is capable and competent.

The best way to know whether the person who give the attunement is competent or not is to check around. You could get the information from the internet. Household names such as Judith Conroy, William Rand and other well known masters are your best choice. Their track record and credibility are your assurance. They have thousand of students and have been around for quite a while.

Reiki online will become a household term for most of us who want to learn reiki at the convenience of our living room. As long as you get the attunement from a reputable and competent master, you are on the right track.

Question and Answers: reiki and babies, is it a good idea?

Reiki Question:
I have a second level qualification for reiki and was wondering if i should practice reiki on my baby which i am expecting in 3 weeks?

My Answer:
Babies love Reiki. I performed Reiki on a friend when she was 8 months pregnant and anywhere on her belly that I placed my hands, the baby followed them. It was very cool.

As for the gentleman who said that science cannot measure the human energy field…what do you think EKG’s and EEG’s measure? The body puts out tremendous amounts of energy that can be measured. In fact, there was a study done where the energy put out from the heart area can be measured up to 15 feet away.

Maybe people should have an open mind and do some research into an area before they decide to answer these types of questions.

Reiki Master Symbols and the Art of Reiki

Reiki Master Symbols and the Art of Reiki

By Craig A Stewart

The Japanese art of Reiki Healing was first conceived by Mikao Usui in 1922, after a three week fast and meditation atop the Japanese Mount Kurama. Reiki combines elements of many alternative healing techniques; including auras, spiritual healing, meditation, and many more.

According to Mr. Usui, we all have what is known as life force energy within us and when our life force energy is low, that promotes negativity, stress, and allows diseases and injuries to occur. Therefore, through the use of Reiki Healing, we are able to restore our life force energy. The Reiki developed by Mr. Usui was more of philosophy on life and today specific elements have been adapted to be used during therapy sessions. This type of Reiki therapy was introduced to Western Civilization in the 1970’s and has since taken off and can be found all over the world.

There are two distinct types of modern Reiki Therapy, one involves the therapist touching the patient and the other requires the therapist to hover his hands above the patient. A typical Reiki Healing session begins with the patient laying on a soft, flat surface such as a couch or massage table. After a few moments of relaxation and meditation, the practitioner then proceeds to position his hands a few centimeters above the patient. The practitioner’s hands remain still for a few minutes and then he changes position.

The practitioner places his hands where he believes that particular patient’s life force energy is low. Reiki is useful in treating all types of illness’s including burns, cuts, diseases, mental disorders, reducing stress, and is even used to treat serious illnesses. Elements of Reiki Therapy are also used during meditation, aromatherapy, and crystal therapy. Though it is debated whether Reiki is scientifically effective at healing, the millions of followers and thousands of people who have relied on its techniques for hundreds of years cannot be ignored.

How to Heal a Person Using Reiki

How to Heal a Person Using Reiki
By Marqus Smith

To understand how to heal a person using Reiki, it is important to be first well grounded in the basic principles of Reiki.

Reiki is itself a traditional form of healing, with roots in Japan and which was originally developed by Mikao Usui, out of what Mikao described as a mystical revelation. The system was further developed by its early practitioners (who had learnt directly from Mikao) most notably Chujiro Hayashi, who in turn taught Hawayo Takata, who is credited with spreading and popularizing Reiki outside of the United States, as well as giving importance to the more commercial aspects of Reiki, like payment for trainings and healings.

The first step towards healing a person with Reiki is learning the art itself. This should not be particularly hard, as attaining the first degree of Reiki training (which comes with four energy attunements) can be enough for conferring adequate basic healing. Reiki can only be learnt from a person who has attained the third degree of Reiki training, also sometimes referred to as a Reiki master.

The specific mechanics of healing a person with Reiki will depend on among other factors the condition the person is suffering from (called an ‘injury’ in Reiki parlance), as well as the school of thought in Reiki that the practitioner performing the healing belongs to. Generally, the tools employed in healing a person using Reiki are hand placements (for a ‘patient’ who is nearby) and symbols for a person who is far away – as Reiki healing can be done remotely.

Where hand placement is employed, you may decide to use whole body treatment or localized treatment. In whole body training, the hand is moved all through the body (aiming for holistic ‘whole person’ healing), whereas in localized treatment, the hand placement is focused on the specific ‘trouble’ area of the body. The hand might be placed directly on the ‘patient’s’ body, or it might be placed some distance away. Direct contact might enhance healing, but it should be noted that ‘patients’ can not only be healed by indirect contact but also even at a distance – where the symbols are employed, though the Reiki practitioner would need at least second degree training to heal a person at a distance.

A Reiki healing session starts with a short period of meditation by the practitioner, followed by the hand placement – which is the main mechanism for Reiki healing.

Energy attunement is at the core of Reiki healing, and by placing the hand directly on the suffering part of the body or near it, the energy imbalances causing the problem are sorted, leading to a restoration of health. And it is the fact that Reiki healing is all about natural energy attunement which obviates the need to use complex equipment. Where whole body healing is employed, the practitioner might be able to tell the parts of body suffering through meditative intuition, also obviating the need for the unnecessary dialog during the treatment, which is supposed to be carried out in a meditative state.

It is also important to note that a single healing might not be enough to effect Reiki healing. Indeed, for most conditions, a series of treatment sessions is considered essential, with routine treatments being encouraged for health maintenance reasons.

Discover the History of Reiki

Discover the History of Reiki

By Yvonne Handford

The history of Reiki reveals the story of magical healing energies which were rediscovered by a man named Dr Mikao Usui, a Buddhist monk in the early nineteenth century. Dr Usui found the “key” for healing using only energy and the palm of your hand. His amazing quest to find the missing “keys” of healing has now been widely spread all over the world, and used daily by millions of people..

A senior student asked Dr Usui, “Do you believe everything written in the bible?” Dr Usui answered “yes”. The boy then proceeded to ask “Why does it say in the bible that we can walk on water and heal sick people, when we can’t”.

This was the seed that started the quest for answers and Dr Usui resigned from his position. He moved to the United States of America and received a Doctorate Degree in Scriptures.

Dr Usui knew Buddha had the power to heal, so he returned to Japan to study Buddhism.

Whilst studying Buddhism he discovered the Original Buddhist Scriptures, but unfortunately they were written in Sanskrit (an ancient language). Which he had to study before he was able to understand the teachings.

Finally, he found the formula of how Buddha miraculously healed people. He knew he was close but could still not heal people. Dr Usui went to the mountains in Japan to fast and meditate on the technique required to heal people for 21 days. His friend the Abbot warned him it could be very dangerous, and he may even loose his life.

As Dr Usui climbed the scared mountain he collected twenty one stones, that he used as a calendar. He spent his days on the mountains studying the sutras, meditating and singing. As the days passed Dr Usui became tired, stiff, hungry, thirsty and exhausted and disappointed as he was no closer to discovering how to heal the sick.

On the twenty first day as Dr Usui began to head home, then suddenly he became aware of a beautiful beam of white light shooting from the heavens directly towards him.

He was stuck by this light which eventually knocked him over, he could also see bubbles of white light before his eyes. These bubbles of light contained the energies of Reiki. He realized the missing key’s of Reiki had been given to him, and the missing energies or the now known symbols of Reiki healing, had been rediscovered.

Following this experience Dr Usui was no longer feeling the tiredness, stiffness, exhaustion and hunger he previously felt. On the way down the mountain he stubbed his toe which he placed his hands over and the pain and bleeding subsided. He healed himself.

When he arrived down from the mountain he stopped at an inn and ordered a Japanese breakfast. The inn keeper could see he had been through an ordeal by his clothes and appearance.

Whilst waiting for breakfast he healed the inn keeper’s daughter of tooth ache. He also healed himself of aches and pains plus his friend at the Monastery the Abbot, of severe arthritic pain using only energy and his hands.

He continued to heal the poor and the beggars for many years. Eventually left the beggars and returned home to the Monastery, where he began healing and teaching students throughout Japan.

Dr Usui now realized there were two primary aspects of healing which were vital- the healing of the spirit and the responsibility of the receiver.

Dr Usui passed the “Keys”, the lineage and the history of Reiki onto 16 students including Chujiro Hyashi, Hakayo Tagata and Phyllis Furimoto who in return passed the Reiki lineage on to thousands of students, so his teachings were never lost again.

Reiki Healing and Chakras Video

Hello!
In my last post A guide to Reiki Chakra, I received a lot of questions about the placement of the various chakras. Since it is difficult to explain in words, I thought I’ll post a movie clip that in greater detail shows the different chakras. Enjoy =)

A Guide to Reiki Chakras

Introduction
Chakras have a profound importance in Reiki healing; to have a basic understanding of Reiki you must have a good insight into the chakras. Originally the word ‘chakra’ originates from a Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’. The human body have 7 major ones and 42 minor wheels located vertically (more about these later). The 7 major chakras are the Crown Chakra, the Third Eye Chakra, the Throat Chakra, the Heart Chakra, the Solar Plexus Chakra, the Sacral Chakra and the Base Chakra.

A chakra is basically a point on the body where energy is accumulated, and the energy flows between these chakra points. This energy flow has to function proper if one is going live a healthy and proper life.

Sometime this energy flow can be blocked, usually by negative energy. What happens when the energy between the chakras are in imbalance is that this can generate problems in areas of mental, physical and emotional in one’s life.

Reiki healing is focused to restore these imbalances in the energy between the chakras by focusing to channelize the energy and restore it. Before the healing can begin one must first clear the chakras, this is necessary because it will provide an easier healing session in restoring the energy. The healing process must though be done under strict guidance, since an excess of energy could possibly be dangerous.

The Chakras

The Root Chakra
The Root chakra is located at the back of the spine. It stands for how well are grounded; it is our contact with ourselves and what we stand for as individuals. This chakra also takes care of our sexual desire and ability to survive. In general this is a very important chakra because it is the engine for how well the whole chakra system works. In the event of poor operation: Obesity, hemorrhoids, constipation, and sciatica.

The Navel Chakra
The navel chakra is located above the genitals and it’s primary function is procreation and sexual. It’s much of a self-confidence and well-being with itself. Another function of the Navel chakra is that is works as a center of cleansing the body. Blockade of this chakra can result in both relationship and menstruation problems.

The Solar Plexus Chakra
This chakra is located above the navel, here are all our feelings stored and the chakra is related to our self esteem and image of ourselves. Because the chakra affects the nervous system as well our blood circulation in the event of poor operation, the following can occur:, diabetes, eating disorders, and low blood sugar.

The Heart Chakra
As you might suggest the Heart chakra is located at the heart. The Heart chakra stands for love and compassion; it’s thus related to trust, love and stronger feelings. Problem and blockage of this chakra might cause a wide range of emotional disorders as: jealousy, pain, hate, grief and fear.

The Throat Chakra
As some observant readers might notice the Throat chakra is located at the throat. This chakra controls everything related to our communication. When a person experiences communication problem it’s highly probable that the Throat chakra is blockaded.

The Third Eye Chakra
The chakra called The Third Eye is located in the forehead, between the eyes. This chakra is about intuition and clairvoyance, more specific it’s about the spiritual development of the self. If one are going to excel in spiritual matters this chakra has to be developed. As a result the chakra is linked to our brain and other physical parts such as the nose and eyes.

The Crown Chakra
In difference to the other chakras this one doesn’t relate to a body organ. Instead it’s located above the head. This chakra is in touch with the universe and it’s energy, the energy from the university comes into the body through the Crown chakra. It’s perhaps one of the most important chakra for Reiki healers.

As a final word I just want to say that this subject is huge and in this post I have only been able to scratch its surface. The important thing to remember here is that all these chakras are linked to each other, if one might be blocked by negative energy it could have a negative effect on other chakras. I can therefore not clearly enough emphasize on the subjects importance!

I recommend you to pick up one of these books to get a more deep insight into Reiki and the importance of chakras:

Reiki Healing – Question and Anwsers

Do Reiki really work and how does one find a reputable practitioner?
Reiki does work! You only have to be open for it. Reiki works even if you don’t feel anything, this because the healing energy is all around us all the time.

Then why should we need Reiki healing if the energy is all around us all the time?

Sometimes people can’t receive all that energy they need because one of their chakras are out of balance. In that condition the chakra have to rebalance it self and this can take some time. But with some help, reiki can make it recover faster and at the same time gives the body the energy it needs to heal.

How can I use Reiki to rid myself of negative energy?

If you know where the negative energy is, vision it in your body and practice Reiki directly towards it. Another thing is to clean your chakras. Begin with your spine chakra, vision the negative energy and let it slowly fade away when the light and colorful reiki energy enters and cleans the chakra. Move upwards until you have cleaned all of them. Then give Reiki to your aura and close your chakras. Begin and stop with a prayer.

What does it mean when people say that Reiki healers use their heart chakra to heal?
This answer might differ from who answers it but I guess it is because you should do the healing with your heart and with your love. Love is healing in itself and love is the biggest thing over all.

What is involved in becoming a Reiki practitioner?

You learn what Reiki is and the history of Usui Reiki. You learn the symbols, how to use them and their names. You practice reiki on your colleagues´ and when the training is over, you´ll be initiated in the powerful art of Reiki.

How can you physically tell if one are really receiving Reiki energy?

Some people can feel the heat from the energy. A feeling of harmony och tranquillty is

How can we give self treatment in Reiki?

What are Reiki chakras and Reiki symbols?

The chakras are energy centers, placed from the bottom of your spine to the top of your head. The most common ones are the 7 chakras. The first one is placed on the bottom of your spine. It connects you with the earthly energy and its symbolic coulour is red. The next one is place right under you bellybutton, its color is orange and stands for you sexuality and your confidence. The next one is placed on solar plexus, the color is bright yellow and there lies the feelings of the human being. The fourth one is the hearth chakra and the center of harmony, silence and forgivness. The color is divided between green and pink. Then there is the troath chakra, wich is bright blue and the communication lies, the one above is placed right between your eyes and has ha deep blue color like indigo. That’s you´re third eye and stands for spiritual awakening and intuition. The seventh and last one is the crown chakra wich connects you with the cosmos and the spirit of the world. The color is often light purple or white.

The Reiki symbols are powerful and the tool for giving reiki. Vision the symbol to start reiki and then, from time to time, revision and repeat three times the name of the symbol. There are lots of symbols and you will be given them during your training and initiation ceremony.

Can someone do distance Reiki with me? How does your body feel when you receive Reiki?

There are special symbols for distance healing and it works perfectly well. Just vision the person and concentrate on a bubble of reiki and send it to them. Distance heling should only be performed if the patient wants to.

The feeling can differ from person to person. If the energy is very powerful you can feel dizzy but the most common feeling is a tingling feeling in parts of your body. You might also feel the chakras moving or pulsing trough you. A feeling of tranquility or harmony is also common.

What’s the difference between a Reiki practitioner, master practitioner and a teacher?

If you practice Reiki you are on your way to be a master. Sometimes this is different from teacher to teacher but 3 steps (educations) are necessary for taking the master. With your Master degree you have proved to be well educated in Reiki and you are ready to train other people.

You do this best by praying for the future. If it’s a special occasion in the future you want to heal, then vision it and give reiki like you do in distance healing.
