What is Reiki Healing?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that requires no specific spiritual alignment. You do not have to be a member of any particular church to practice Reiki. It does not matter if you are Christian or Buddhist; Reiki will work for you and will not offend your beliefs. In my experience, Reiki is a wonderfully simple, portable and non-invasive healing modality that requires no expensive equipment and can be learned at home through Reiki online courses and books.
Treatments are not tiring to perform, nor do they create wear and tear like, for example, massage. You can even perform a treatment on a person that is in another city or country, once you have your second degree attunement! The possibility of distance treatments and distance learning made learning Reiki online a natural fit. It is also easy to treat yourself with Reiki, enabling a long and healthy life.
Translated, the word Reiki is made of 2 words; “Rei” means universal life giving, and “Ki” (otherwise known as Chi) means energy. The origins of Reiki are made up of stories that have been passed on from master to student over many years. There are many discrepancies between the teachings of different Reiki masters and schools, but the bones of the tale remain the same.
Reiki originated in Japan, and is attributed to the work of Dr. Mikao Usui, a professor at a Christian university in Kyoto, Japan. Towards the end of the nineteenth century, Dr. Usui attempted to learn how Christ had performed healing, after being asked this question by his students. It is said that he studied world religions to seek answers. This part of the tale is questionable, but may have become part of the “legend” when Reiki began to be taught in America.
Usui is said to have traveled through Asia and the United States seeking answers. Finally, he concentrated on Buddhism, and found himself at a Zen monastery, back in Japan. He studied for years, and was guided to perform meditation to find his answers. He went on a 21 day fast and meditation retreat to achieve enlightenment. At this time, after 21 years of study and seeking, and then 21 days of fasting and meditating, it is said that he saw and was filled with a great bright light. The light surrounded him, and entered his body through his third eye. This is thought to be the universal life force energy, entering Usui and opening the channels for healing with this energy.
After this, he was filled with the universal life force energy and was able to channel it to heal himself and others. Through extensive practice, Dr. Usui discovered the 5 principles of Reiki. He also developed the Reiki symbols, which have been a controversy in Reiki online teachings and Reiki books. Some Reiki authors and Reiki Online schools feel that the symbols should not be revealed for free and others distribute them to all.
It is said that Usui learned through offering free treatments to the poor that the healing was not appreciated if it was not paid for. This is said to have come about as he was performing Reiki on the poor, and he recognized a man he had already treated. He asked the man why he was still a beggar, and the man replied that he had taken Usui’s advice, and gotten a job, but it was easier to be irresponsible and be a beggar. I think that this may have contributed to the hefty fees charged by some teachers and some original Reiki online courses. Again, the truth behind this is questionable, and may have been added to help justify the large fees charged by early masters and Reiki online schools. Saying that, remember when you are treating others that your time is valuable also, it is not against Reiki principles to be compensated for your time.

Distance Healing - To Send People A Distance Healing For Free

Why use a reiki distance healing treatment? Because it will help you to improve your mental, physical and spiritual state, and that of the person you ware sending the life force energy to. It can help to reduce the pain of chronic disorders. Distance healing and direct healing are powerful practices. The good thing about it is you don’t need extensive training!
I’ll show you a simple way of doing it right here, but first, in a nut shell, what is distance healing? It is the transmitting of energy at a distance to heal others.
First of all life force energy, or chi, like reiki or WhiteLight Self-Empowerment energy, is not limited to time and space. Thus, with the correct amount of focus you will be able to channel that energy in order to help yourself and others. A person can be healed or relieved from pain by sending life force energy from a distance, the recipient does not need to be present. This life-force energy can also be stored up in a cosmic battery for those in need to retrieve as distance healing when it is most convenient for them in the future.
Here is a simple way, without attunements or symbols, to send people a distance healing:
Find a quiet place in your home where you can relax. Sit up straight, legs uncrossed, and close your eyes, and become clam.
Imagine yourself appearing in a white energy orb at your crown chakra. When you have this image firmly in your mind, take a deep breath, and as you inhale see yourself in that energy orb traveling through all of your chakras, opening and activating them, as the orb descends beyond your root chakra into the earth.
This should happen quickly within the time that you inhale.
Now as you exhale imagine yourself in that orb, going back through your chakras, going up through the 7 levels of reality, to the highest level, where there is the power of divine creation. This level is filled with pure white light, and now your white energy orb should melt into this light. Then imagine yourself descending, and as you descend back down into your body, take a beam of this pure white, life force energy with you, as you inhale again.
Now when you exhale, focus on the person you want to send the distance healing to. When you have that person firmly in your mind, focus that beam of divine life force energy you retrieved from the highest level toward that person, and keep channeling it until you feel the healing is done.
After that, send the beam of healing energy back to the highest level with the greatest of gratitude. Thanks all involved, and your are done

Reiki Symbols Revealed - The 4 Major Symbols of Reiki Healing

Reiki online was not a household term 15 years ago. It was something that you had to learn in person and spend a few days from a master. Some schools even required you to pass a test before taking level 3.
The same thing applies with other daily routines, such as banking. In the late eighties, electronic or internet banking was not a household terms. How to Heal a Person Using Reiki

To understand how to heal a person using Reiki, it is important to be first well grounded in the basic principles of Reiki.
Reiki is itself a traditional form of healing, with roots in Japan and which was originally developed by Mikao Usui, out of what Mikao described as a mystical revelation. The system was further developed by its early practitioners (who had learnt directly from Mikao) most notably Chujiro Hayashi, who in turn taught Hawayo Takata, who is credited with spreading and popularizing Reiki outside of the United States, as well as giving importance to the more commercial aspects of Reiki, like payment for trainings and healings.
The first step towards healing a person with Reiki is learning the art itself. This should not be particularly hard, as attaining the first degree of Reiki training (which comes with four energy attunements) can be enough for conferring adequate basic healing. Reiki can only be learnt from a person who has attained the third degree of Reiki training, also sometimes referred to as a Reiki master.
The specific mechanics of healing a person with Reiki will depend on among other factors the condition the person is suffering from (called an ‘injury’ in Reiki parlance), as well as the school of thought in Reiki that the practitioner performing the healing belongs to. Generally, the tools employed in healing a person using Reiki are hand placements (for a ‘patient’ who is nearby) and symbols for a person who is far away - as Reiki healing can be done remotely.
Where hand placement is employed, you may decide to use whole body treatment or localized treatment. In whole body training, the hand is moved all through the body (aiming for holistic ‘whole person’ healing), whereas in localized treatment, the hand placement is focused on the specific ‘trouble’ area of the body. The hand might be placed directly on the ‘patient’s’ body, or it might be placed some distance away. Direct contact might enhance healing, but it should be noted that ‘patients’ can not only be healed by indirect contact but also even at a distance - where the symbols are employed, though the Reiki practitioner would need at least second degree training to heal a person at a distance.
A Reiki healing session starts with a short period of meditation by the practitioner, followed by the hand placement - which is the main mechanism for Reiki healing.
Energy attunement is at the core of Reiki healing, and by placing the hand directly on the suffering part of the body or near it, the energy imbalances causing the problem are sorted, leading to a restoration of health. And it is the fact that Reiki healing is all about natural energy attunement which obviates the need to use complex equipment. Where whole body healing is employed, the practitioner might be able to tell the parts of body suffering through meditative intuition, also obviating the need for the unnecessary dialog during the treatment, which is supposed to be carried out in a meditative state.
It is also important to note that a single healing might not be enough to effect Reiki healing. Indeed, for most conditions, a series of treatment sessions is considered essential, with routine treatments being encouraged for health maintenance reasons.
